As part of our commitment in becoming a more environmentally sustainable business, EcoBee launched the 25¢ FOR NATURE program in 2010. For every case of product sold, EcoBee is contributing 25 cents to environmental causes.
We teamed up with American Forests and their Global ReLeaf program. The program plants trees around the world and helps restore ecosystems that are damaged by storms, fires and over development. The trees that are being planted on EcoBee's behalf will repair the habitat for wildlife, help clean our air, water, and offset carbon footprints.
In addition to restoring ecosystems with the Global ReLeaf program and utilizing recycled materials in our products and packaging, EcoBee is also preserving a small part of our planet by adopting 2000 acres of virgin Borneo rainforest in Malaysia – our rainforest will not be converted into other land use or commercial purpose. By preventing deforestation and limiting commercial exploitation of our borrowed corner of the rainforest, we help lower carbon emissions and protect the complex tropical rainforest ecosystem which supports a very interesting and huge array of flora and fauna. To further reduce our carbon emissions we are a proud supporter of EarthEra, a company that builds renewable energy facilities in the United States. From such humble beginnings, we hope to increase our efforts to protect the environment and inspire others to do the same.
